FAQs about our Disaster Recovery VM

Scalability and Flexibility for your DR VM

You will have the last 30 days of your Disaster Recovery VM available.
The limit of the size of your VM must be 5TB or less
Once your request is made the original VM will be deleted and the replacement then restored
You are able to use your own recovery tools independent of our services
There are limits to the number of requests as we operate a fair use policy
Data is the biggest currency online and you need to ensure it is always available
We encourage all our customers to have alternative backups for their data simply because we believe that it provides confidence in our motives and also inspires avoiding a single point of failure for your data.
Our management tools from the Control Panel will provide you a number of options on how to backup your data and transfer remotely either by FTP or SSH
You are also to automate these backups using cron if you have the technical skills to use that tool.
Please note you cannot use your backups to exceed your package data quota of disk space
Yes we can provide SLAs for Disaster Recovery options for our clients.
The SLAs will be personlised dependent on what the client wishes to achieve but generally you would have three options for the RPO and RTO. This would require detailed discussions on what the client's needs are
Again this will depend on the SLA agreed upon. If you are on a 10Gbe network this would obviously affect the recovery speed
Another variable is the amount of data and yet another variable is the location of the data is it to a VM within our network on another network.
We try to be transparent in our Professional advice with no hidden costs
